They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lake Mary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Lake Brantley entered their tilt with Boone on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 10-5. Ten seems to be a good number for the Patriots as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Lake Brantley also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lauren Compton gave up five earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayla Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Auriana Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lake Brantley's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Mary, their record now sits at 6-19.
Lake Mary suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Lake Brantley when the teams last played back in March. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
