Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Quinter

Quinter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 61-57 W against the Rawlins County Buffaloes. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Buffaloes are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Quinter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shea S salyers, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, S salyers also posted three steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Caedmon Bridges was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points and seven boards.

Quinter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tru Dewey, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Sis, who went 5-for-8 en route to 12 points and five boards.

Quinter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Rawlins County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quinter will host Trego at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Quinter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Rawlins County, they will be playing at home against Golden Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
