Even though the Heritage Christian Academy Eagles have not done well against the Appling Christian Academy Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Heritage Christian Academy came out on top against Appling Christian Academy by a score of 40-29. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Heritage Christian Academy was the (much) better team in the second half.
Bella Gray and Katelyn Jarrett certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Gray dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Jarrett scored nine points along with two steals. Gray hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games.
Heritage Christian Academy's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Appling Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian Academy will take on Alleluia Community at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
