Tuesday just wasn't the day for Aberdeen's offense. They came up short against Nettleton on Tuesday, falling 13-0. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Meanwhile, East Webster posted their closest win since February 24th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over South Pontotoc. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.
Jasie Rae Flora made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alyssa McCoy was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Larkin Conner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
East Webster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Pontotoc only posted a batting average of .200.
East Webster's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Aberdeen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
