The Eastside Rams are on the road again on Friday and play against the Fort White Indians at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Hopefully Eastside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Last Friday, Eastside was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Buchholz. While losing is never fun, Eastside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Buchholz is ranked 71st).
Despite their loss, Eastside saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kelvin Baker, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Baker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrel Comer, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Fort White had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past Union County, posting a 63-33 win at home. Fort White might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Fort White, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
