DeMatha has won five straight games at home, while St. Mary's Ryken has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Stags will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between DeMatha and Jackson-Reed, and DeMatha kept the tradition alive. The Stags skirted past the Tigers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Stags have posted since March 26, 2025.

Colin Lappin looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for DeMatha: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
At the plate, DeMatha saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Calabrese, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
St. Mary's Ryken came out on top against Georgetown Prep on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Knights walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Little Hoyas.
Dillon Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, St. Mary's Ryken got a big performance out of MacGuire Moore, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Sigafoose, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
The win got DeMatha back to even at 5-5. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
DeMatha came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Mary's Ryken in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Stags repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
