The Arrupe Jesuit Generals will be playing at home against the SkyView Academy Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Arrupe Jesuit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Arrupe Jesuit had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down Rocky Mountain Prep SMART 50-31.
Arrupe Jesuit found their leader in underclassman Ari Cowans, who scored 26 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Xavier Martinez, who scored 9 points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, SkyView Academy pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stargate School. SkyView Academy has struggled against Stargate School recently, as their game on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Arrupe Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for SkyView Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Arrupe Jesuit suffered a grim 40-15 defeat to SkyView Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Arrupe Jesuit, Matt Fann (who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds and 7 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
