On Saturday, St. Dominic wrapped up 2023 with a 51-35 win over St. Edmund Prep. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Dominic.
St. Edmund Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Priscilla Long and MacKenzie Palisi. Long dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Palisi scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Palisi scored a full 57.1% of St. Edmund Prep's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
St. Dominic's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for St. Edmund Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
St. Dominic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holy Trinity at 5:45 p.m. on January 9th. As for St. Edmund Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Maria Regina at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Maria Regina comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
