The Chattahoochee Cougars will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Chattahoochee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Chattahoochee on the road against Berkmar as the squad secured a 68-32 win. Given Chattahoochee's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Berkmar is ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chattahoochee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Berninger, who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Berninger's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklinne Dorr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Greater Atlanta Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Wesleyan 75-30.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Chattahoochee's win pushed their record up to 7-1, while Berkmar's defeat dropped theirs down to 1-7.
Chattahoochee came up short against Greater Atlanta Christian when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-47. Thankfully for Chattahoochee, Trinity Thomas (who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
