If the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS were feeling good off their 64-35 takedown of the Deer Park Wildcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Madeira suffered a tough 63-42 loss at the hands of Wyoming on Friday. Madeira has not had much luck with Wyoming recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Madeira lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aidan Hopewell. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Reed, who scored eight points.
Madeira has fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 2-9. As for Wyoming, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madeira won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Batavia at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Batavia is on a three-game streak of home losses, Madeira an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Wyoming, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Fenwick at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Fenwick will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Wyoming is ranked 31st).
