The Lakeside Warriors will head out to square off against the Logansport Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakeside has seven straight victories, Logansport has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lakeside is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Northwood get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.
Ella Wood made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Emily Jones and McKenna Chreene did most of the damage at the plate: Jones got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Chreene went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. What's more, Jones posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Raleah Harris also deserves some recognition as she stole her first stolen base of the season.
Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood only posted an OBP of .125.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Logansport took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benton.
Logansport saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izabelle Stroud, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Lakeside's record now sits at 7-0. As for Logansport, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Logansport's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Lakeside has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Logansport, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Lakeside keep running through batters, or will Logansport buck the trend?
Lakeside might still be hurting after the 18-8 loss they got from Logansport in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Lakeside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
