Meanwhile, New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 47-42 to Carlinville. While losing is never fun, New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Carlinville is ranked 152nd).
Lincolnwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Things could have been worse for Lincolnwood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-24 loss to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly when the teams last played on December 7th. Can Lincolnwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
