The Doddridge County Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Braxton County Eagles, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Doddridge County came out on top against Braxton County by a score of 61-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Doddridge County.
Doddridge County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaycee Lipscomb out in front who scored 13 points along with five assists and five steals. Lipscomb continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Tenley Paugh was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Braxton County's loss came despite strong showings from Erica Nicholson and Bailey Pritt. Nicholson scored 20 points along with four steals, while Pritt scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pritt has scored all season.
Doddridge County's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Braxton County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-7.
Doddridge County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Roane County at 5:45 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Roane County is ranked 60th, while Doddridge County is ranked 37th). Braxton County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Notre Dame at 5:45 p.m. on January 11th.
