They came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Collegiate on Friday and snuck past 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Hammond has posted yet this season.
Trinity Collegiate's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Kind, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Legette, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Hammond's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Trinity Collegiate, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.
Hammond will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Augusta Christian at 6:15 p.m. As for Trinity Collegiate, they will head out on the road to square off against Wilson Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
