The Denby Tars will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Southeastern Jungaleers at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Friday, Denby was beaten by De La Salle Collegiate 56-6. While losing is never fun, Denby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 279th, while De La Salle Collegiate is ranked tenth).
Southeastern fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past Ecorse with a 12-6 victory on Friday.
De La Salle Collegiate's victory bumped their season record to 7-2 while Denby's loss dropped theirs to 8-1.
Denby took a serious blow against Southeastern when the teams last played back in September of 2021, falling 49-0. Can Denby avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
