The Brazos Christian Eagles will be playing at home against the Live Oak Classical Falcons at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brazos Christian came tearing into last Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Allen Academy with a sharp 67-42 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Brazos Christian has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Live Oak Classical scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Holy Trinity Catholic 100-36 at home. Given Live Oak Classical's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Holy Trinity Catholic is ranked 1694th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tristan Wilson, who scored 32 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ogden, who scored eight points along with 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Brazos Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Live Oak Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.
Brazos Christian came up short against Live Oak Classical in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 61-49. Can Brazos Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
