Perkiomen Valley is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will host the Spring-Ford Rams at 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Perkiomen Valley came up short against Council Rock North and fell 7-3. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Perkiomen Valley got a good showing from Chris Horgan, who pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Chase Kelly made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Trevor Peterman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Spring-Ford had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past Souderton 7-6.
Dan Rutkowski and Chris Russell dominated on the mound. Rutkowski pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Russell struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Luke Sedor was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Haag, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Perkiomen Valley now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Spring-Ford, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Perkiomen Valley got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Spring-Ford by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
