The Liberty Lions will square off against the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Liberty has seven straight victories, Berkeley has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Liberty's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Pittsburg with a sharp 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kate Skinner looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April.
On the hitting side, Kylee McKinney was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last eight games. Madison Tuttle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Berkeley's offense. They fell 5-0 to Arroyo on Friday.
Olive Lightfoot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks.
Liberty's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Berkeley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Berkeley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
