Caldwell County has gone a perfect 9-0 against Trigg County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Caldwell County Tigers face off against Trigg County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Caldwell County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Henderson County 14-5 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Ari Wells made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Wells was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 3.5 RBI per game.
In other batting news, Caldwell County let Drew Stevens and Luke Parker run wild. Stevens scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Parker scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Westin King, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Caldwell County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henderson County only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, Trigg County made easy work of Hopkins County Central on Saturday and carried off a 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won four in a row.
Ty Gootee looked comfortable as he struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Trigg County got a massive performance out of Aaden Allen, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Allen a new career-high. Bentley Reynolds was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Caldwell County pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Trigg County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Caldwell County beat Trigg County 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will Caldwell County repeat their success, or does Trigg County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
