Cyprus is 9-1 against Granger since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cyprus Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Granger Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Cyprus and three for Granger.
Cyprus pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Juan Diego Catholic by a score of 58-56. Even though they lost, Cyprus' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Paden Sharp put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 1 assist. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Xian Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Granger suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-43 walloping at the hands of Juan Diego Catholic. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Granger has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Daudi Aweyso, who scored 16 points. Aweyso is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cason Fleischel, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Cyprus has fallen quite a ways from their 24-4 record last season and are now at 1-13. As for Granger, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Cyprus have been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 39.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Granger struggles in that department as they've drained 39.4% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
