The Desert Christian Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Benson Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Desert Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-run drubbing they dealt San Miguel on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 25-4 margin over the Vipers. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vipers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Eric Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Esquerra, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Craig, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Desert Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benson). They blew past Santa Rita 21-1 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won four contests in a row.
Benson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Desert Christian, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-7.
Desert Christian couldn't quite get it done against Benson in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 10-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
