Basketball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Picks Up 15th Consecutive Victory

Midland Classical Academy had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.9 points) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 64-28 victory over the Temple Christian Eagles. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midland Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleigh Sherrill, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Sherrill a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Midland Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Midland Classical Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Temple Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Midland Classical Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Country Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Temple Christian has already played their next matchup (against Lubbock Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
