Bayshore and Booker are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Bayshore Bruins will challenge the Booker Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bayshore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Bayshore took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 22-3 margin over Gibbs. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bruins considering their one-run performance the game before.

Diego Villegas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Greene, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jashun Judge, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Bayshore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Booker waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Seminoles by a score of 8-5. The game was the first time the Tornadoes have beaten the Seminoles on their field since March 2, 2021.
Kobran Waters was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game.
Bayshore pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only three in the others. As for Booker, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bayshore has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Booker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bayshore took their win against Booker when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bayshore since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
