Rocky Mount is 8-2 against Franklinton since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Rocky Mount Gryphons will head out on the road to face off against the Franklinton Rams at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Rocky Mount unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 56-37 fall against Southern Nash.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gerald Davis, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franklinton managed to keep up with Northern Nash until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Franklinton suffered a tough 72-52 loss at the hands of Northern Nash. While losing is never fun, Franklinton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Northern Nash is ranked 155th).
Rocky Mount's record now sits at 6-11. As for Franklinton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12.
Rocky Mount barely slipped by Franklinton in their previous meeting back in January, winning 50-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rocky Mount since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
