The Boulder Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Poudre. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boulder in their matchups with the Impalas: they've now lost six in a row.
Boulder's loss came despite strong showings from Megan Matthews and Gaby Mccollester. Matthews scored 12 points, while Mccollester scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Remi Kingdom was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Leading Poudre to victory were Hailey Brewster and Jaqueline Forrest. Brewster scored 13 points, while Forrest scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brewster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Orr, who scored four points.
Boulder has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Poudre, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.
Boulder will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Fairview is ranked 154th, while the Panthers are ranked 157th). As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to take on the Lobos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rocky Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday.
