The North Duplin Rebels will face off against the Neuse Charter Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Duplin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 66-42 margin over Bear Grass Charter on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Rebels who have now won five matchups in a row.

North Duplin had a senior duo take command as Addy Higginbotham dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten steals and Tateyawna Faison dropped a double-double on 20 points and 25 boards. Faison is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lilly Fulghum, who posted nine points.
North Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Neuse Charter against Ascend Leadership on Wednesday as the team secured a 76-12 win. That looming 76-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.
Neuse Charter found their leader in freshman Lily Temple, who earned 22 points along with eight steals and seven assists. That's the most points Temple has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Barefoot, who posted 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
Neuse Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for North Duplin, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North Duplin has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Neuse Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went North Duplin's way against Neuse Charter in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as North Duplin made off with a 60-38 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Neuse Charter's Cayley Cochran, who put up 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will North Duplin still be able to contain Cochran? There's only one way to find out.
