The GVCS Broadfording Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Fort Hill, falling 85-41. While losing is never fun, GVCS Broadfording can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Sentinels are ranked 65th).
Despite the defeat, GVCS Broadfording saw an underclassman step up: Nashon Mann scored ten points.
GVCS Broadfording's loss dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Fort Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
GVCS Broadfording will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Mercersburg Academy's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Lions have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Fort Hill will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
