Basketball Game Preview: South Broward Bulldogs vs. Deerfield Beach Bucks

The South Broward Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Deerfield Beach Bucks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Broward will be strutting in after a victory while Deerfield Beach will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, South Broward really took it to Cooper City for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-13 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 31 points or more this season.

Ayonna Lewis had a dynamite game for South Broward, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Lewis is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Kalia Adams, who posted five points in addition to ten rebounds and five blocks.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Deerfield Beach's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a blow against Northeast, falling 78-37. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 52nd).

South Broward is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.7 points. As for Deerfield Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for South Broward against Deerfield Beach in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 59-15 victory. In that contest, South Broward amassed a halftime lead of 43-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
