Volleyball Recap: Douglas County Starts off Right with Win over Osborne

Douglas County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Osborne Cardinals by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.

Douglas County easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-20.

Kynedie Thomas went supernova, getting eight aces and three digs.

Thomas wasn't the only good server: Douglas County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osborne only served three aces.

Coincidentally, Douglas County and Osborne will both be playing South Cobb the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will host the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
