Albany proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks 12-11. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Haywood Williams-Watson was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Paulsen, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Albany is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Fonda-Fultonville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Albany and Fonda-Fultonville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Falcons will face off against Schalmont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (85 vs. 288). Meanwhile, Fonda-Fultonville (ranked 157th) will meet Galway (ranked 317th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
