It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Wendover had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Yerington Lions by a score of 73-60. The Wolverines are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 14 straight.

Yerington's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brent Brinkley, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 22 points and four steals. Brinkley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chauncey Henderson, who had nine points in addition to eight boards and five blocks.
West Wendover's record is now 21-2. As for Yerington, they moved to 16-9 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
West Wendover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-43 loss against Battle Mountain on the 14th. Yerington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
