North extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 34 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-17 in the process. They lost 18-3 to the Narragansett Regional Warriors. If the Polar Bears were looking for revenge after losing 20-3 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benis Pascual, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
As for Narragansett Regional, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
On Narragansett Regional's side, Max Kauffman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kauffman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Trey Richard and Travis Cohn dominated on the mound. Richard went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Cohn pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cohn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael Casavant, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those triples were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landen Dupuis, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, North will host Montachusett RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Polar Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. Narragansett Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
