Sturgis West had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Bristol County Agricultural by a score of 49-39 on Wednesday. The victory was just what Sturgis West needed coming off of a 67-32 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Upper Cape Cod RVT fought the good fight in their overtime game against Avon on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Panthers. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Sturgis West's win ended a 14-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
