After a string of four wins, the Burlington Huskies's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Meeteetse. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ethan Salzman was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five assists and two steals for Meeteetse. Salzman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Potas, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Burlington's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Meeteetse, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-5.
Burlington and the Buckaroos will face off at 12:00 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wyoming (Kaycee is ranked 57th, while the Huskies are ranked 48th). As for Meeteetse, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Non Varsity Opponent is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
