The Orangewood Christian Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against The First Academy, falling 80-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Orangewood Christian in their matchups with The First Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Orangewood Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jacoby Osbourne scored 13 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lorenzo De jesus, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Lerner, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Orangewood Christian's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for The First Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orangewood Christian will take on Lake Mary Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for The First Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
