Druid Hills blew past Clarkston, posting a 93-46 win at home. Given Druid Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Clarkston is ranked 508th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clarkston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan McBride, who scored 15 points. McBride scored a full 32.6% of Clarkston's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakaria Hussein, who scored 6 points along with 8 assists.
Druid Hills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Clarkston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Druid Hills will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Miller Grove at 6:00 p.m. Miller Grove is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Clarkston, they will face off against New Horizons Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
