Travis extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-8. They lost 17-10 to the Eastside Early College Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-9 on Tuesday.

Victor Mota stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Nathaniel Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Eastside Early College, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games.
On Eastside Early College's side, Pedro Leon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Leon a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Eastside Early College is undefeated when Leon posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Aleman, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Eastside Early College's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Leon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Travis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-1 defeat against Legacy Ranch on the 31st. As for Eastside Early College, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-5 loss against Manor New Tech on the 31st.
