Morgan County is 9-1 against Elliott County since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Morgan County Cougars will be staying on the road to face off against the Elliott County Lions at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
Last Wednesday, Morgan County was beaten by Blazer 77-42. While losing is never fun, Morgan County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Blazer is ranked tenth).
Meanwhile, Elliott County beat East Carter 55-45 on Monday.
Morgan County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Elliott County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Morgan County strolled past Elliott County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 46-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morgan County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
