Adams City and Aurora Central are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Adams City Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aurora Central Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Adams City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sebastian Garcia out in front who went 7 for 13 en route to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Garcia a new career-high. Elijah Vigil was another key player, putting up eight points.
Adams City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Aurora Central's and Gateway's game on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Aurora Central turned on the heat in the second half with 53 points. Everything went Aurora Central's way against Gateway as Aurora Central made off with a 79-53 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Adams City better focus on containing Alejandro (Alex) Flores and Deon Davis Jr as the pair were huge in Aurora Central's win. Flores went 10 of 20 on his way to 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Davis Jr almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Flores has scored at least a third of Aurora Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabou (Ben) Camara, who posted six points and nine rebounds.
Aurora Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Adams City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Adams City has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Aurora Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
