The Collegium Charter Cougar suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Renaissance Academy by a score of 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Renaissance Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taijae Byrd-Breazeale, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ed Breazeale IV, who scored 15 points.
Collegium Charter has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Renaissance Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
