The Holy Name Green Wave's's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lake Catholic Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on December 19th. Holy Name has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 476 points over their last seven matches.
Even though Gilmour Academy scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Holy Name still came out on top. Holy Name sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-60 victory over Gilmour Academy. The victory was all the more spectacular given Holy Name's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Gilmour Academy is ranked 57th).
Meanwhile, Lake Catholic was the victim of a tough 68-42 loss at the hands of Maple Heights on Sunday.
Despite the defeat, Lake Catholic had strong showings from Ace Peterlin, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Peyton Budrys rini, who scored 11 points. The matchup was Budrys rini's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Holy Name now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lake Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Holy Name came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Catholic when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 67-64. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lake Catholic's Aidan Fitzgerald, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds.
