The Hueneme Vikings will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Castaic Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. on December 20th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Hueneme didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Laguna Blanca, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. The victory was just what Hueneme needed coming off of a 74-32 defeat in their prior match.
Hueneme can attribute much of their success to Chris Juanillo, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Richardson, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Castaic came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Santa Fe by a score of 66-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hueneme has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-9 record this season. As for Castaic, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
