This season hasn't been kind to The Dover Dragons, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were dealt a 33-0 loss at the hands of Spackenkill on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dover in their matchups with Spackenkill: they've now lost six in a row.
Conor Drnek threw for 105 yards on six of 21 attempts. Kayden Brinson was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards.
Bryan Hoyt went supernova for Spackenkill, rushing for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 207 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Slack, who gained 119 total yards and a touchdown.
Dover's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Spackenkill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 2-7 record this season.
Dover's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on November 2nd. Spackenkill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
