East Lake is on a nine-game streak of home wins, while Mitchell is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East Lake 2.2, Mitchell 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
East Lake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Palmetto get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Five seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
The result came thanks to Lucy Mondok's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ali Sheffield and Danni Scali did most of the damage at the plate: Sheffield went 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base, while Scali went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Scali a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Mitchell's hitters rose to the challenge against a Bulls pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.63 runs allowed on Thursday. The Mustangs put the hurt on Wiregrass Ranch with a sharp 11-4 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Madyson Whitaker was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Savannah Hencz was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Mitchell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 17-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
East Lake is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, their win bumped their record up to 22-6.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Lake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .499. However, it's not like Mitchell struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Lake came out on top in a nail-biter against Mitchell in their previous matchup last Wednesday, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
