The Lightridge Bolts lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Briar Woods, falling 63-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lightridge has scored all season.
Noelle Cabiness continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Briar Woods, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cabiness has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tia Chen, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Lightridge has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Briar Woods, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Lightridge will head out on the road to challenge Potomac Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Potomac Falls is facing Lightridge at the right time seeing as Lightridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Briar Woods, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Briar Woods' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Independence has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
