After two games on the road, Blackford is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Elwood Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Blackford ended up a good deal behind Jay County and lost 47-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blackford in their matchups with Jay County: they've now lost seven in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Savanna Morris, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals. Bralee Vanskyock was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Elwood came up short against Southern Wells on Tuesday and fell 35-23. Elwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blackford's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Elwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for Blackford against Elwood when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 64-6 victory. Does Blackford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
