Basketball Recap: Schuylkill Haven Falls Despite Big Games from Alan Evans and Max Heim

Schuylkill Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tri-Valley Bulldogs. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Schuylkill Haven's loss came despite strong showings from Max Heim and Alan Evans. Heim almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards, while Evans posted 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Heim is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Braydyn Diehl, who put up seven points.

Schuylkill Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Tri-Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Schuylkill Haven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-43 win against Fleetwood on the 11th. As for Tri-Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-45 victory against Halifax on the 11th.
