DeKalb came into Monday's game looking for another win against Plainfield South, but Layla Lesure wouldn't allow it. The Cougars strolled past the Barbs with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 57-43 with plenty of help from Lesure, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game.

Asia Sudberry was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals. Sudberry is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Plainfield South now has a winning record of 4-3. As for DeKalb, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Coming up, Plainfield South won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Yorkville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeKalb, they will square off against Waubonsie Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
