The Potter's House Christian Pumas's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-40 loss at the hands of Lee. While losing is never fun, Potter's House Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 671st, while the Legends are ranked 205th).
Potter's House Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abram VerWys, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. VerWys hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Nathaniel Kuipers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Potter's House Christian dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Potter's House Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Muskegon Catholic Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Pumas like a good challenge. As for Lee, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ionia is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
