The Reedy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Frisco Raccoons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Reedy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Frisco likes a good challenge.
A well-balanced attack led Reedy over Sherman in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Reedy blew Sherman out of the water with a 59-0 final score. The result was nothing new for Reedy, who have now won six contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Triston Airy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Airy is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Kahlil Smith made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Frisco had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-7 win over Heritage.
Reedy's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. Frisco has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven games, giving them a 6-1 record.
Everything went Reedy's way against Frisco in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as Reedy made off with a 29-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reedy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
